Overview

Los Abuelitos Salvadoran Food, nestled on W 105th Street in Cleveland, offers an authentic taste of Salvadoran cuisine that feels both comforting and vibrant. The restaurant stands out primarily for its exceptional pupusas, a traditional Salvadoran staple, expertly crafted with fillings such as shrimp and cheese, chicken and cheese, or the flavorful chicharrón blend. These hearty, handmade pupusas are paired alongside freshly prepared curtido and salsa, which add the ideal tang and texture to each bite.

Beyond pupusas, the menu embraces a diverse array of Salvadoran favorites including savory empanadillas and a variety of tacos—ranging from carne asada to birria and vegetarian options like cauliflower and mushrooms. The tacos arrive topped with fresh cilantro, pickled onions, and a special sauce that elevates the overall flavor profile, capturing the essence of Salvadoran street food with a refined touch.

The atmosphere inside Los Abuelitos is cozy and inviting, reflecting a welcoming space that encourages guests to savor each dish slowly or quickly grab a quality meal on the go. While some have observed occasional delays in service, the generous portion sizes and rich, authentic flavors consistently make the experience worthwhile. Whether you are a local or a visitor exploring Cleveland’s vibrant culinary scene, Los Abuelitos offers a genuine taste of Salvadoran culture, perfect for families and food enthusiasts alike.

Drinks like their tamarindo offer a refreshing complement—balancing sweet and sour notes that refresh the palate. The restaurant’s fair pricing and commitment to fresh ingredients make it an accessible destination that honors Salvadoran culinary traditions without compromise.

In sum, Los Abuelitos Salvadoran Food delivers a compelling dining experience anchored in tradition, flavor, and warmth—a must-visit spot for anyone seeking to explore Central American cuisine beyond the usual offerings.

Tamale was super moist and the slaw that comes with the pupusa was great. Carnitas taco ingredients tasted super fresh and the tamarindo drink was sour, sweet, and refreshing. loved the food here and felt like it was at a really fair value.

I ordered via Doordash, food was ready to go when I came. The inside is very cute and cozy. The food is EXCELLENT - lots of vegetarian options as well. The pupusas were the stand out item, very flavorful. The cauliflower and mushrooms tacos were also very good.

I loved it. Everything was delicious. I can’t believe it was empty when I got there. I decided to try a different kind of pupusas. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the outside area of Cleveland.

If you're craving authentic Salvadoran flavors, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you step in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The menu features a wonderful array of traditional dishes, each more delicious than the last. The pupusas are absolutely stellar—crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside. Their tamales are packed with flavor, and the yuca frita is crispy perfection. You can't miss their freshly made horchata, which is the ideal refreshing complement to any meal. Whether you're a longtime fan of Salvadoran cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place does it right. Every bite tells a story of rich tradition and passion. Can't wait to return!

There’s a new restaurant in town and it might be the one of my new favorites. Great value, great taste, and they give you a nice quantity of food. There was no way I could finish my food, I was beyond full. I brought home food for multiple meals! They treat you good in here too. Now that’s what I’m talking about Ps. Wow this is an instant winner!! The tostadas were crispy, fresh, and loaded with bold flavors. Their elote was perfectly grilled and smothered in creamy, tangy goodness. The street taco was packed with tender, seasoned chicken. All this for $12!!! I can’t wait to go back!
